Welcome to Cumbo

It is so cool that you have made it to Cumbo - wherever you've come from. We hope you'll enjoy your studies on campus, and that you'll have the opportunity of finding out more about freedom! Because Uni is a place where there is a lot of freedom compared to being a High School student. Fewer hours, greater flexibility, new friends, entering into adult life ... But what does it actually mean to be free? Get involved with ECU activities, because we will be thinking about true freedom from the Bible.

Week 1 at Cumbo

In week 1 we'll have an ECU stall where you can come up and meet us, find out more about ECU and anything you want to know about Cumbo. And we'll have some fun taking place not too far from the stall to get people mixing.

We're holding a free Welcome BBQ on Wednesday of week 1 on the lawn next to B-block. Come along for some food and drinks, and get to know students from your course group, and some upper year students from your course group who will give you some advice. It will also be a chance to hear about our small groups.

Come to our Public Meetings (Tuesday & Thursdays 12-1. We're still waiting for a room to be attributed, so lets meet in the foyer of B-block, and by Tuesday week 1 we should have a room / lecture theatre!

On Friday from 6pm on we'll have a free International welcome dinner - with good food, fun, get to know you games, and a short talk about Jesus. To find out more and to book your place - contact Annie (0425 275 317) or William (0422 429 815).

ECU small groups are fantastic for getting to know Jesus and other first year students in your course. This semester, we will be reading through key passages in Luke's gospel. There isn't a better way to get to know Jesus, than through the interactions he had with people that Luke records, and they are fun to investigate - they are never dull! Small groups are open to everyone, believers, agnostics and atheists alike. If you would like to join a small group, contact Kitty
or sign up here.
